At the coordination of Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the GTS Operator of Ukraine received another package of assistance from Japan. It includes generators provided by the Sumitomo Corporation and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as protective gabions.

Generators with capacities between 6.5 kW and 160 kW will be delivered to GTSOU’s facilities to provide backup power supply if necessary. The 1,800 gabions have been installed at GTSOU’s facilities in different regions of Ukraine.

“The support provided by the Japanese Government and the entire Japanese people to Ukraine’s energy sector is continuous and systematic, which is extremely important for the restoration of our energy infrastructure. Apart from that, Japan is our partner when it comes to the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula, some important components of which include energy security, as well as radiation and nuclear security. We are sincerely grateful for your steadfast position and support,” Ukraine’s Minister of Energy German Galushchenko said.

According to the GTSOU’s Director General Dmytro Lyppa, assistance provided by Japan will contribute to the stable operation of the Company’s facilities around Ukraine and enhance the level of their protection.

Let it be reminded that thanks to the coordinated cooperation between the Government of Japan, the Ministry of Energy, the EBRD and UNDP, Ukraine received the necessary auto-transformers and gas turbines.
