The Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski visited to a newly delivered gas turbine, supplied to Gas TSO of Ukraine (GTSOU) through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. As Russia’s attacks continue to damage critical infrastructure, the Ukrainian government is prioritising the integration of peaking gas turbines to stabilise the energy system and prevent further disruptions.
With the turbine’s imminent startup, it will enhance grid stability and generation capacity, supporting the ongoing heating season and playing a key role in securing Ukraine’s energy system throughout the year, including next winter.
“We are grateful to the Energy Support Fund for its support in strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for coordinating the process,” said Dmytro Lyppa, General Director of the Gas TSO of Ukraine.
Site visits are key to the Fund’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient use of donor contributions, aligned with Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy priorities. Director Lorkowski reaffirmed the Secretariat’s role in ensuring the responsible and timely delivery of support.
“Our partners and donors can have full confidence that their support is effectively translated into tangible results on the ground, strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience in a time of war”.
