GTS Operator of Ukraine became the winner of the “Partnership for sustainable development – 2023” competition

On October 17, the award ceremony for the winners of the annual international competition “Partnership for Sustainable Development” organized by the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine took place. An international jury recognised the GTS Operator of Ukraine the winner in the “Economic development” category for its successful implementation of the #StandWithUkraine project. Within its framework, since the start of the full-scale war, the Company has managed to combine efforts of 18 GTS operators from 14 European countries in order to maintain the stable operation and keep the country supplied with natural gas under enemy bombings of energy facilities, especially during the autumn and winter period.

In order to ensure stable operation, the GTS Operator received from its European partners a significant amount of equipment and resources, including generators, humanitarian goods, welding equipment and vehicles for humanitarian missions.

“We are grateful to the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine for this award, as it is a recognition of the Company’s successful efforts to mobilise international support for Ukraine’s GTS in times of war. Also, we sincerely thank our European partners for their tangible and active support that helped to significantly strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience during the previous autumn and winter season,” Dmytro Lyppa, General Director of the GTS Operator of Ukraine, noted.

For the fifth year in a row, the UN Global Compact awards the best projects that have been implemented in cooperation between businesses, governments and civil societies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Over 80 cases were submitted for this year’s competition. Apart from participants from Ukraine, representatives of an array of European countries took part in the competition, too.
