GTSOU and Ukrtransgaz to hold a shippers meeting with international partners

On March 25, 2024, operators of Ukraine’s GTS and UGS, with the assistance of the Energy Community Secretariat and Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, will hold a shippers-meeting, a joint annual partnership event, in Vienna. GTSOU and Ukrtransgaz representatives will share the outcomes of the 2023/2024 injection and withdrawal season, present plans for the 2024/2025 season, and talk about the passing of this year’s stress test of Ukraine’s gas transportation infrastructure. Representatives of Gaz-System and Energy Traders Europe will take part in the event, too.

“This year we are conducting a new stress test. Its key difference from the one held last year is the increase in storage volumes of natural gas to 5 bcm. We are working on eight critical scenarios envisaging the toughest conditions, with the basic condition for all scenarios consisting in the cessation of transit. We want to assure our customers that our system is flexible and we can transport and store traders’ gas during the periods and in the volumes they need,” Dmytro Lyppa, GTSOU’s General Director, said.

Let it be reminded that during the 2023/2024 season, the GTS Operator of Ukraine actively cooperated with customers of transportation services. Together with “Ukrtransgaz,” operator of gas storage facilities, GTSOU held dozens of meetings with traders and international partners. As a result, foreign customers transported over 3 bcm of natural gas to Ukraine.

This year, the GTS Operator continues actively working with its customers, too: its team has already held over 40 business meetings. In January-February 2024, gas transportation from Europe to Ukraine amounted to 60 mcm. European partners have already started booking capacities for gas transportation to Ukraine for the second and third quarters of 2024.
