Assistance from USAID: GTSOU received the first batch of pipes for repairs of main gas pipelines

Pursuant to its operational needs, the GTS Operator of Ukraine has received the first batch of pipes with different outer diameter and wall thickness configurations for the performance of repair works on main gas pipelines and replenishment of the company’s emergency stock. The pipes have already been delivered to one of the Operator’s industrial sites. Completion of deliveries is scheduled in the coming weeks.

“The pipes received by the company as part of the assistance guarantee an uninterrupted operation of Ukraine’s gas transmission system. This assistance provided by USAID will allow GTSOU to increase the reliability of the gas transmission system and replenish the existing emergency stock of pipes to enable a prompt response to possible emergency situations, which is particularly important in wartime conditions,” – GTSOU’s general director Dmytro Lyppa noted. “I would like to sincerely thank our international partners for their support in ensuring the stable operation of the GTS and the safety of gas supply for Ukrainian consumers.”

As previously reported, the GTS Operator of Ukraine, with the support from USAID, is also introducing mobile maintenance of GTS facilities. In order for the work of mobile teams to meet the standards of European GTS operators, as well as to be automated and transparent, GTSOU has requested and received technical assistance from USAID through its Energy Security Project (USAID ESP) for the purchase of a mobile application. An agreement on the development of the application and its integration with the Company’s ERP-system has already been signed.
