Diesel fuel, centralizers, electrodes and humanitarian aid – how gas TSO’s from all over Europe are helping

The support provided toGas TSO of Ukraine by international colleagues is going from strength to strength. As of April 25, according to the company’s technological needs, 18 operators from 14 countries – Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Great Britain and Ireland – have offered their assistance.

The first cargoes arrived in Ukraine in late March – centralizers for assembling pipes for welding from the Belgium’s operator Fluxys and humanitarian goods (ground pads, sleeping bags, etc.) from the German operator ONTRAS. The latter will be used both for the needs of GTSOU employees – in bomb shelters, in combat areas, where our employees have to be on duty for long periods of time under fire, as well for for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Romanian’s fuel producer Petrom has delivered 10 tons of diesel fuel for GTSO needs through a local distributor – a resource that is crucial now.

In addition, 6 tons of welding electrodes have beendelivered for GTSOU needs from Bulgarian colleagues at Bulgartransgaz EAD. These electrodes are essentialfor welding when repairing the main gas pipelines. At present, these electrodes are an extremely scarce resource, which it is almost impossible to procure on the Ukrainian market.

The scheme on emergency delivery of special equipment and repair kits for and connection of bypasses in the event of damage that requires the relevant equipment, has been agreed with the German operator OGE (Open Grid Europe).

We are grateful to our international colleagues for the support provided, as well as to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and USAID for their assistance in obtaining critical materials for GTSOU needs.

Thanks to these joint efforts, GTSO continues supplying gas to Ukrainian consumers.
