Gas TSO of Ukraine held consultations with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia

March 24 – Gas TSO of Ukraine continues to work actively to strengthen cooperation with strategic partners to diversify sources of natural gas supplies to Ukraine.

As you know, in Croatia from January 1, 2021, an LNG terminal on the island of Krk with a throughput capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters per year was launched, which can become a new source of natural gas supplies for Ukraine. This would significantly enhance the energy security of our State and open up new opportunities for cooperation between the Croatian and Ukrainian natural gas markets.

According to information on the official website of LNG Croatia, from the 2023-2024 gas year, free capacities for potential transportation of natural gas in the direction of Ukraine will be available for booking. This prospect became known during an online meeting of representatives of the GTSOU with Vasyl Kyrylych, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia.

To ensure the possibility of gas transportation from the LNG terminal on the island Krk in Croatia Gas TSO of Ukraine is actively working with partners. GTSOU sees its role in creating prerequisites for the further use of the terminal’s potential on the island Krk in order to diversify sources of energy resources to Ukraine”, – noted Olga Bielkova.

Gas TSO of Ukraine thanks the Ambassador for his active position and willingness to establish partnerships with the Croatian side.
