The Gas TSO of Ukraine became a member of the Gas Infrastructure Europe association

January 25, 2021, Kyiv – Gas TSO of Ukraine joined the Gas Infrastructure Europe association. It is a representative organization towards the European Institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the European Union) as well as the European bodies of regulators (ACER, CEER) and other organizations and companies operating in the European gas market. The Association unites 70 gas infrastructure companies from 26 countries GTS operators, gas storage operators and operators of LNG terminals.

According to the GIE’s vision, by 2050, gas infrastructure will underpin the development of an innovative energy system and safe, efficient and sustainable energy supply to the people of the continent. GTSOU shares this vision and joined the GIE to develop cross-border trade, enhance interaction and international cooperation between countries, joint researches, strengthen energy security and sustainable development of the gas market.

“Promotion of decarbonization is an integral part of the GTSOU strategy. Membership in GIE will allow GTSOU to expand international cooperation united by the idea of ​​sustainable development, decarbonization, technical innovation and the use of renewable energy sources, in particular hydrogen. Namely, GTSOU, together with other European GTS operators, should be the key to energy security and flexibility of the energy system of the entire European continent”, – said Pawel Stanczak, Deputy General Director on Development and Transformation of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.
